Hi, I’m Melody…

(She/Her)

Something feels off — but you can't quite put it into words. Maybe it's a heaviness you carry into every room, a pattern you keep repeating, or a sense of being disconnected from yourself or the people around you. You've tried to think your way through it or talk your way through it, but nothing is actually changing.

I work with adults, teens, and tweens who feel stuck in exactly that place — and need a way into their experience that doesn't rely on forcing words.

My Background

I started as a board-certified music therapist, doing clinical work in an inpatient mental health setting at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. I later returned to school to become both a licensed social worker and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. That path shapes how I approach therapy today.

My Approach

I work with adults, teens, and tweens navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and major life transitions, with particular depth in dual diagnosis work. My style is calm, quiet, and unhurried. People often feel less pressure in our work together than they have in other therapy settings — which can make a meaningful difference if you've felt stuck or unsure how to begin.

I draw from DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy, and I incorporate creative and expressive approaches when they're helpful. This might include music, art, or other ways of exploring your experience beyond words.

If talking hasn't worked for you before, that's not a failure. It just means we may need a different way in.

A Little About Me

When I'm not in the office, you'll find me biking, playing instruments, collecting tattoos, and spending time with my family. I'm an avid reader and rarely without a warm, caffeinated drink. I think therapy works best when the person across from you feels like a real human being — and I try to be one.
