Issues We Treat

Therapy works best when your therapist genuinely understands what you're carrying. Our clinicians serve individuals, couples, and families across Oakdale and the east Twin Cities metro, with specialized experience across a wide range of concerns.

Whatever brings you here, you'll be met with compassion, real expertise, and no judgment. Below are the areas we work with most — and if you don't see your exact concern listed, reach out anyway; there's a good chance we can help or point you in the right direction.

Trauma

Unresolved and unprocessed trauma can embed deeply within us, resulting in issues that we carry long into adulthood: anger, shame, anxiety, depression, addiction, and more. Examining your past traumas and internal conflicts is a powerful path to profound self-understanding and expansion. Our therapists work gently and collaboratively to help you work through past trauma in a way that is meaningful and empowering for you. Some of our therapists also use Internal Family Systems, EMDR therapy, ART, or Music Therapy, or other advanced modalities to help individuals heal from memories of traumatic events.

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression are our body’s natural expression of a desire for healing and transformation. Your thoughts and behaviors are symbolic and meaningful expressions of the pain you feel inside. Rather than repress or eliminate these feelings, it’s best to understand the origin and nature of the deeper wounds and fears they represent. As part of your therapy, you will learn to identify and change the negative beliefs and habits that keep you from moving forward on your chosen path.

LGBTQ-Affirming Therapy

Our practice offers LGBTQ-affirming therapy for clients across Oakdale and the east metro, with clinicians trained in LGBTQ and gender-affirming care. From coming out and gender identity to relationships, family acceptance, and minority stress, you'll be met with genuine understanding rather than tolerance. A safe space isn't something we claim — it's something we build in every session.

Addictions and Co-occuring Disorders

Addictions, whether it be food, gambling, sex, or chemical, are often a coping mechanism for dealing with underlying feelings of anxiety, depression, and powerlessness. An important part of recovering from addictions is identifying underlying reasons for your unhappiness while finding a sense of greater meaning in your struggle. We utilize holistic approaches designed to tap into your internal resilience and help you achieve constructive change, self-efficacy, and personal empowerment.

ADHD Therapy

ADHD isn't a character flaw or a lack of effort — it's a different way your brain manages attention, time, and energy. Our therapists offer neurodivergent-affirming support for teens and adults with ADHD, focusing on coping and executive-function skills that actually fit how you operate, plus the self-understanding that comes from working with your brain instead of against it. We don't provide testing or assessments, but we offer ongoing, affirming therapy for living well with ADHD.

Autism Therapy

We offer neurodivergent-affirming therapy for autistic teens and adults who want support living authentically. Our work centers on unmasking, navigating relationships and communication, building coping skills, and addressing the anxiety, burnout, and trauma that often come from years of masking and being misunderstood. We don't provide diagnostic testing, but we provide ongoing therapy that honors who you are rather than trying to change it.

Relationship Issues & Couples Therapy

Relationships ask a lot of us, and sometimes they need outside support to get back on track. We help couples and individuals work through communication breakdowns, conflict, trust and connection, life transitions, and the patterns that keep getting in the way. Whether you're trying to repair, reconnect, or simply understand each other better, therapy can help.
