Hi, I’m Rachel…
(they/them)
I graduated from the University of Minnesota and am licensed by the State of Minnesota as an LGSW. I have accumulated over 9 years of experience working in and around the mental health field. I do my best to tailor my therapy approach to each client, through collaboration and communication.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages, and especially love working with teens and young adults who are experiencing life transitions such as starting new jobs, coming home from college, and moving through life transitions. I bring in a variety of tools into the work, including building safety, skill building, and exploring relationship patterns.
I strive to create a space where clients can be honest about what they’re experiencing without feeling rushed or pressured. I understand that therapy can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating at first, and I work to make the process feel more comfortable while still gently encouraging growth. I value open feedback and see therapy as a collaborative process that evolves over time.
With children, I incorporate creativity, play, imagination, and movement to help them connect with their emotions and express them in ways that feel natural and accessible.
As a queer person, I do my best to create a space that allows for open engagement, challenging conversations, and an opportunity for clients to explore their own feelings and experiences around this topic when relevant. I aim to create a space that encourages challenging conversations, self reflection, and learning for both my clients and myself.
In other news, I have an orange cat named George, who is great at getting herself into curious situations. I also love plants and art and believe both can play a positive role in life and therapy. When I have time, I garden, draw, do crafts, and spend time hiking.
