Hi, I’m Erin…
(She/Her)
I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University and a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from Augsburg University. Over the past 20+ years as a music therapist, I have experience working in grief and loss, caregiver support, and general adult wellness. In recent years as a psychotherapist, I have expanded my work to include working with individuals experiencing trauma, relationship difficulties, stress, existential concerns, as well as depression and anxiety.
When working with adults, I am interested in helping navigate the many challenges life brings. As an active listener, I am careful to notice significant themes, so that we can then untangle complex situations and gain more understanding in moving forward. I work from a values-driven focus, helping people connect with what matters most within themselves and in relationships with others.
When working with couples I utilize an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy framework to help identify negative patterns, deepen emotional connection, and create lasting change in the relationship. I support couples in moving from conflict and disconnection toward greater trust, security, and intimacy.
When working with younger individuals I offer a safe and creative space where they can express themselves, process emotions, and build confidence. Whether it is through music, arts/crafts, or conversation, my goal is for every young person to leave the therapy room feeling heard, supported, and reminded that they matter.
As a music therapist I can offer clients the option to incorporate music-based experiences into their therapeutic work. Music therapy can support emotional expression, regulation, connection, and healing—especially when words alone may not feel accessible. I practice the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, which is a depth-oriented approach that uses classes music to support imagery that is facilitative of exploration, healing, and personal transformation. This method can be especially helpful for accessing deeper layers of experience, processing grief or trauma, and fostering a stronger connection to self.
