Joe Krohn Cardinal Psychotherapy

Hi, I’m Joe…

(he/him)

As a cisgender male therapist deeply passionate about fostering a sense of safety and understanding for individuals of all backgrounds, I bring a personalized and empathetic approach to my therapeutic space. With a current license as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota, I have honed my skills to specialize in LGBTQ+ related concerns, anxiety/depression, self-worth/self-esteem, and more.

Life's journey is unique for each person, often marked by periods of uncertainty, feelings of isolation, or moments of feeling lost. In my therapeutic space, I prioritize creating a sensitive, non-judgmental, and safe environment where you can freely explore your thoughts and emotions. Your experiences and perspectives are valued and respected as we work together to navigate challenges and uncover pathways to growth and self-discovery.

Utilizing a person-centered and humanistic approach, I tailor our sessions to your individual needs, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. This personalized approach allows us to delve into your unique strengths and perspectives, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world.

I understand that seeking therapy can be a vulnerable endeavor, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, we will create a collaborative partnership focused on empowering you to embrace your authenticity, cultivate self-compassion, and navigate life's challenges with resilience and confidence.

Outside of the therapeutic space, I enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking or camping. I also enjoy spending time with my dogs, watching movies, and playing video or board games. I love to learn, professionally and personally, and I seek out ways to foster this continued growth every day.
